1934—Zurab Tsereteli, sculptor, is born. | Presently, many consider him to be the main Moscow sculptor. He is a close acquaintance of Moscow mayor Yury Luzhkov, and therefore he is asked to do most of the major sculptural projects in Moscow. 
1834—Vasily Perov, painter, is born. | He is one of the founders of the Fellowship of Moveable Artistic Exhibitions, which is a society of painters who move their exhibitions from town to town. His most famous works include Troika and Hunters at Rest, portraits of Ostrovsky and Dostoevsky. |
