1938—Vladimir Vysotsky, poet, singer, actor, is born.
Vysotsky is among the most popular and dear to people artists of the latter half of XX century in Russia.

1755—Empress Elizabeth issues a decree about establishing of Moscow university, the future Moscow State University.
Now January 25 is celebrated as the Students Day.
