1837—Miliy Balakirev, composer, pianist, conductor, is born.
In 1860s he organizes a musical society known as The New Russian Musical School, Balakirev Society, and The Mighty Bunch.

1656—Franz Lefort, Peter the Great’s associate, is born.
One of the Moscow districts is named Lefortovo after him.
