1897—Golden coins come into use in Russia.
There are two kinds of new coins – Imperial and Half-Imperial. Ruble becomes one of the most stable currencies in the world.

1891—Osip Mandelshtam, poet, is born.
One of the most famous poets of the Silver Age of Russian Poetry (the first quarter of the twentieth century).

1795—Alexander Griboyedov, diplomat, playwright, is born.
Alexander Griboyedov is the author of one of the most popular Russian play of the XIX century Gore ot Uma (Wit Works Woe). The text of the play almost completely turns into catch-phrases.
