1811—The Kazan Cathedral is consecrated after ten years of its construction after the design of the well-known architect Andrei Voronikhin.
The idea of the Cathedral building belonged to Pavel the First: during his journey in Europe he takes to the St. Paul Cathedral in Rome and decides to have something of the kind in St. Petersburg.

1773—Starts the largest in Russian history Peasants’ rebellion under the leadership of Don Cossack Emelyan Pugachev.

53—Nikita Khrushchev is elected the Firs Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union
In the power struggle triggered by Stalin's death in 1953, Khrushchev won the battle against his main opponents - Malenkov and Beriya.
