Dates in History
1957—Opening of the 6th World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow.
The festival was visited by 134 000 people from 130 countries.Its motto was "To peace and friendship".The festival was a gerat event for all Soviet students,its influence is evident: it brought fashion for jeans,rock-n-roll and sneakers.

1817—Ivan Aivazovsky, Russian painter, famous for his seascapes, is born.
Aivazovsky's paintings are original for romanticizing immense greatness and wild power of the sea and the braveness of people, fighting with the sea (“The Ninth Wave”, 1850). Witnessing the military manoeuvres of the Black Sea Fleet, Aivazovsky dedicated many of his paintings to brave Russian seamen (“Chesmensky Battle” and “Navarinsky Battle”, both dated to 1848).
