1730—Russian Empress Anna Ioannovna signs the decree on casting the grand Uspensky bell, which later receives the name of Tsar Kolokol.
The Tsar Kolokol (the Tsar Bell) becomes the unique monument of Russian ornamental casting of the XVIII century. Bell design works are charged to the Moscow caster Ivan Fedorovich Motorin. The Tsar Kolokol’s size impresses: the bell weighs over 200 tons, it is 6 m 14 cm high and has the diameter of 6 m 60 cm. The Tsar Kolokol is mounted on the Red Square.
