1745—Denis Fonvizin, writer, is born.
In 1781 Fonvizin creates his most accomplished work – comedy “Nedorosl” (Greenhorn). In his play he points out the root of all Russian misfortunes – serfdom and public ignorance, which can be overcome be reforms in the manner of Enlightenment.
