1722Peter the Great issues a Table of ranks. | The Table of ranks defines officials service order. It fixes 14 ranks (classes, the 1st is the highest) in three categories: military (army and navy), civil, and courtiers. The Table of ranks is modified several times during its existence, and is cancelled after the Revolution of 1917. |
