Dates in History
1872—Alexander Skryabin, composer, is born.
He adds organ and bells to the orchestra, and even writes special part for the lighting of the symphony Prometheus. This is the first attempt to combine different artistic means.

1834—The anthem “God Save the King” is adopted.
It remains Russian National Anthem until 1917, and after that it becomes the anthem of monarchists, the so-called Whites. Music to the anthem is written by Alexey Lvov, and the lyrics – by Vasily Zhukovsky. In 1815–1833 Russian State Anthem, “Prayer of the Russians”, exploits music to the British anthem “God Save the King” and lyrics by Vasily Zhukovsky. In 1834 the music to the Russian anthem is changed to that by Alexey Lvov.
