6th International Skolkovo Robotics Forum in Moscow
April 10, 2018 19:06

Executive Director of Skolkovo Robotics Forum, Olga Avryasova

Leading world and Russian experts in the field of robotics will discuss the current issues of creating and developing robotic systems at the 6th International Skolkovo Robotics Forum, which will be held in Moscow on April 24. The forum will feature representatives of global technological giants, including Amazon and Medrobotics, as well as the best Russian robotic centers, companies and laboratories. The Forum Executive Director, Olga Avryasova, spoke in detail about the Skolkovo Robotics Forum to TASS agency.
- Companies from which countries will come to the forum? How many participants will there be?
- This year the forum geographically expands its borders. We have received applications from different countries. Unfortunately, not all applications have met our increased requirements: the exhibition should have a functioning prototype at least. In total, the commission of the Skolkovo Foundation has approved 50 companies for participation in the exhibition.
- What topics will be covered by key speakers of the forum? Who is it going to be?
- This time we were surprised with the willingness of foreign speakers to come to us. This enabled us to generate a full-fledged program with the participation of foreign specialists on all key topics: industry, medicine, agriculture, and unmanned vehicles. Over the years, we have got worthy Russian companies with the leaders, whose opinions the world community listens to. Therefore the names that I enumerate will not be foreign only. This is Ekaterina Bereziy, the co-founder of ExoAtlet, which recently attracted $ 5 million from a Korean company to enter the foreign market; Olga Uskova, the founder of the «Cognitive Technologies» company, the developer of unmanned vehicles; Lee Suyon, Professor of the Korea Institute of Advanced Technology; Emily Frazzoli, a professor at the Swiss Higher Technical School in Zurich and technical director of nuTonomy, the developer of an unmanned vehicle, and many others. The full list of speakers is available on the forum's website.
- How will the participants from Russia be represented on the forum? Who will it be? What developments will be presented by them?

- First of all, this is a forum for demonstrating the solutions of Russian companies. Visitors will be able to see unmanned vehicles, various means of rehabilitation, components for robotics, robotic designers, and warehouse robotics. This year there will will be presented several developments, which are made on the basis of solutions by the residents of the Skolkovo Foundation. This is the recognition that a complete product has been produced.
- What are the main topics discussed at the forum? What formats will be discussed at the forum?
 - This year we will talk a lot about unmanned transportation. This is one of the most popular topics of today. In addition to issues related directly to robotics, it covers both moral aspects and legal issues. The second important topic that will be discussed is medicine and rehabilitation. Minimally invasive surgery and the possibility for a person to restore lost functions.
- What are the advantages of participating in the forum to development companies? Can you give examples?
 - First of all, this is an opportunity to show what the company has done over the past year. For companies this is a kind of annual report. In addition, this is a meeting venue. In addition to the invited guests, the forum is attended by the entire robotic community. For companies it is a chance to get acquainted with industry representatives, and investors, as well as establish partnership relations with other companies.
