The Moscow State University has taken the 90th place in the international ranking of the world’s best universities by QS World University Rankings.
In total there are 27 Russian universities in top, the result showing three universities more than in 2017.
The Moscow Lomonosov State University has made it to the 90th place from last year's 95th place.
The relevant data is available on the project's website. This year, the rating of 1000 world’s best universities includes 27 Russian universities. Almost all the Russian universities have improved their positions in the rating.
The St. Petersburg State University ranks 235th (240th in 2017). Other Russian universities on the list include the Novosibirsk State University (244th and 250th places respectively), the Tomsk State University (277th and 323rd), the Bauman Moscow State Technical University (299th and 291st), the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (312th and 355th), the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (329th and 373th), the Higher School of Economics (343th and 382th), the Moscow State University for International Relations (the 355th and 373rd), the Tomsk Polytechnic University (the 373rd and 386th), the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (the 404th and 410th), the Ural Federal University (the 412th and 491-500th), the Kazan Federal University (the 439th and 441-450th), the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (the 446th and 501-550th), and the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys (476th and 501 – 550th).
