Russian language, Culture and Literature Centre offers various short-term and long-term courses designed for students interested in study Russian language, culture, history or art. Self-made programs can be realized on the base of previous requests.

Academic program
This program is open to all students in good standing and requires NO previous knowledge of the Russian Language. Students are required to take the intensive Russian Language course while at St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University and must take one or more of additional courses. To ensure that students derive maximum benefit from their period of study the University has made certain requirements:
- Students must enroll for an intensive Russian Language course (16 hours a week);
- Students are placed in groups according to the results of the assessment test on arrival;
- Students can enroll for two or three additional courses (in total 4 hours per week).
- There is a maximum of 10 students per language class.
Russian grammar, conversation, phonetics, translation, writing practice etc. - 16 hours a week.

Learning process in the Center implements all the year round. A distinctive feature of it is integration of the foreign partner-high schools in the learning process. It means possible oscillations in curriculum from 4 weeks to 1 year according to the programmes of partner universities. Students usually come for one semester.

Admission is based upon application to IIEP, containing following information:
- Passport copy
- Information about education duration and level of Russian language
- Accommodation conditions: a dormitory (single- or double-room) or in host family
The students usually reside in SPbSPU campus, where they enjoy a Russian university experience in an international environment. They live, study, dine and relax with classmates from many countries, having an opportunity to share a residence hall room with someone from their own town or some other region.
University does its best to create comfortable living conditions for international students. They usually live in one of the two hostels. Both hostels are located near the SPbSPU studying campus. Private accommodation also can be arranged.
Hostel, located directly in the university building, offers students apartments consisting of 2 rooms, a small kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet. Described apartment is suitable for 1, 2, or 3 students. Telephone, satellite antenna or refrigerator can be installed on additional payment. On the first floor one can find big dining room, cafeteria, sports gym with trainers.
In a distance of 50 m away main building another hostel is situated. Students also live there in apartments, consisting of 2 rooms (big and small ones), a bathroom and toilet. Each floor contains two kitchens, for cooking meals. Telephone, satellite antenna or refrigerator can be installed on additional payment.
