Brand New Equipment for Cleaning Water Reservoirs from Oil to be Tested in the Arctic
June 13, 2018 14:30

The developers emphasize that the invented aeroprobe for water purificiation has no analogues in the world.
A special device, the aeroprobe, created by the biologists of the Tomsk State University is used to lift oil from the bottom of water bodies. The unique equipment is going to be tested in winter conditions for the first time. Scientists plan to conduct tests in the Republic of Komi, part of which is located beyond the Arctic Circle.

Book Flights to Russia
Danil Vorobyov, the head of the Biological Institute of the TSU reported about that.
"We are expecting new solutions for cleaning water objects in the winter ... We are currently looking for a customer. Most likely we will conduct tests in the territory of the Komi Republic for Lukoil," - Danil Vorobyov said at the exhibition “Information Technology for All”.
The event was held in the framework of the X International IT forum in Khanty-Mansiysk.
The aeroprobe has no analogues in the world and is constructed on the basis of an air diffuser, which makes oil adhere to air bubbles and rise to the surface. Afterwards, the researcher holds a visual assessment of the contamination according to a six-point grade. Scientists are already coworking with Lukoil on the use of the aeroprobe in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area.
Danil Vorobyev clarified that he is now expecting the introduction of a standard for bottom sediments in the territory of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area. That will give more freedom in carrying out cleaning of rivers and lakes from oil and oil products. "So far the nature user does not understand up to what level to clean and what conditions to set for the contractor. We have been working quite a lot in this direction, so we already have designed equipment for running water, and not only for lentic water," – the expert added.
Earlier it was reported that the exhibition "Information Technologies for All" had opened within the framework of the recent IT-forum in Khanty-Mansiysk. The aim of the exhibition was to demonstrate the best achievements, including those by domestic developers of IT products, as well as create conditions for the most effective communication of the forum participants in order to search for and introduce ideas and advanced technologies into production. State institutions, the companies producing equipment, technologies and innovations took part in it.
About the Forum
