At the 9-th International Exhibition Interauto, National University of Science and Technology presented a number of developments in the area of nanotechnology for modern and future-oriented automotive industry.
Among them are the anti-wear additives based on carbon nanotubes, coatings against corrosion, self-cleaning glass and more. Their know-how has been demonstrated in the form of a full-size transparent sports car Bugatti. "When you sit down in our transparent sports car, you feel like a man of the future..." - says the author and project manager for the creation of an unusual car-stand.
The University has introduced more than 20 new materials for the automotive industry, including strontium ferrite with nano- and sub-microcrystalline structure for a new generation of magnetic materials used in micropower systems of cars, switches and sensors of the fuel; casting alloys based on aluminum and a protective coating on their surface for the manufacture of pistons for internal combustion engines and so on.
The National University of Science and Technology MISiS has a proud and distinguished history, having celebrated its 80th anniversary in June 2010. Following Russian Federal Policy in Engineering and Innovations, the University is working to develop research and development projects in prioritized areas of the economy, as identified by the Presidential Administration. MISiS’s goal is to create energy-effective technologies and environmentally-friendly methods of industrial production, as well as to produce new materials for use in energy-effective technologies.
More than 700 exhibitors from 17 countries, including Germany, Italy, Korea, China, Poland, Hungary and the United States took pat in the exhibition. Interauto is officially supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Association of Automobile Manufacturers of Russia and the Moscow Region Government.
