The 4th International Arts Festival "Inspiration" in Moscow
July 25, 2018 11:20

One of the key events of Moscow summer at the ENEA! From July 20 to August 5, 2018 the ENEA is hosting the international arts festival "Inspiration", which harmoniously blends the recognized classics with incredible experiments. The Inspiration festival is peculiar for the fact that every year its program is dedicated to one particular genre or one important topic in art, and presents contemporary, unusual and large-scale works on the subject, as well as reveals various facets of the genre chosen. In 2018, the main theme of the 4th Festival "Inspiration" is The Theatre.
However, this is not the theatre that viewers are used to seeing at large and small theatrical venues of Moscow throughout the theatrical season. In the summer off-season you will not find in our main program any interpretations of classical or modern plays, you will not see popular actors in famous roles. But you will find here unusual performances that cannot be found on usual theatre stages. In the program of "Inspiration" there is a theatre beyond the theatre, a theater near the theatre, and even a theater without the theater: a stage synthesis on the border of ballet and circus, an impressive open-air show, adventurous travel through mysterious spaces and even a public installation that imperceptibly spectators into actors ...
The extensive program of the Inspiration Festival brings together stage productions by Russian and European theatres. The “Les Plasticiens Volants” Theater from France will perform The Space Odyssey", rock singer Kati Avraam will present The Waterlitz play, the German-Swiss band Rimini Protokoll will open the festival with an atypical sociological show Situation Rooms.
The NoGravity company from Italy will perform “a miracle theatre”. Their amazing show "Aria" that has conquered the leading European festivals is reminiscent of the Italian baroque and based on a bizarre game of plasticity and unique stage machinery. The performers’ bodies unite into unusual figures and soar over the stage to the accompaniment of the "Roma barocca essemble" and ancient music instruments created by the masters in the Baroque era.
Special programs deserve special attention. The main hero of the first special program is the restored ENEA House of Culture. Gleb Cherepanov, Lyudmila Petrushevskaya, the Theatre of Nations and Alexander Filippenko will present amazing projects about outstanding literary figures. The second part will be dedicated to the theatre and cinema. In the performances presented, visitors will see how these two genres art interact and which art forms attract the public's interest in the present. The public will also enjoy youth productions.
As one of the festival organizers, Roman Dolzhansky, notes, "Inspiration" is an event on the border of genres, a show-journey through an unknown space where the viewer can suddenly become an actor.
Admission is free for all events, except the theatre performances Aria and Situation Rooms, as well as special programs in the ENEA House of Culture. Tickets run from 500 roubles and are available here or at VDNKh ticket offices.
