As for the estimates of the managing partner of “TMT Consulting” Konstntin Ankilov, the number of mobile communications subscribers in Russia amounts to about 240 million mobile connections by the end of the second quarter of 2015. Thus, the share of Yota in the market of providers accounts for 0.8 percent, taking into account the users of USB-modems and routers. The number of subscribers of MTS is about 74.5 million, “Megafon” - about 69.5 million and “VympelCom” - 55.7 million users.

Tele2 can boast of approximately 34.9 million subscribers. The big three and Tele2 are followed by “Motiv” with 2.4 million users and “Smarts” whose base has about 1.1 million subscribers.

Thus, Yota won the seventh position in the ranking after the publication of the results of its first year as a mobile operator. The number of subscribers of virtual mobile providers in the Russian market makes up about two million people in the first quarter of 2015 or a little less than one percent.

According to the estimates of Ankilov, Yota makes up about 47 percent of all virtual providers, another 23 percent in the beginning of the quarter fell to “Svyaznoy Mobile” which has currently suspended its work.

Another seven percent are taken by “Just for Communication” (“Prosto Dlya Obshcheniya”) being a tariff actually, but regarded as a virtual mobile operator in the current practice, according to the expert of “TMT Consulting”.
