Residents of Russia have problems in connecting to YouTube. This is reported on DownDetector site, which fixes failures on popular services. According to the service, about half of users can not watch any video on the hosting. Another 43 percent cannot open YouTube homepage. 6% of visitors cannot get authorization.
According to the crash map, YouTube is not available in Russia only. Most of the messages come from major cities - Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. However, malfunctions are observed in many Russian settlements to some extent.
It is not known whether the problems with mass locks of IP addresses are connected to the request of Roskomnadzor, which is trying to block Telegram. On April 22, the Office announced the inclusion of prohibited information of IP-addresses of Google in the registry, which is owned by YouTube. According to the regulator, access to Telegram is provided in Russia by means of these addresses.
