Commodity turnover between Russia and the United States increased by 15.8 percent and amounted to 23.1 billion US dollars in 2017. This is reported by Rambler News Service with reference to the message of the Ministry of Economic Development.

According to the Ministry, exports to the USA increased by 14.7 percent, up to $ 10.6 billion and imports increased by 16.8 percent and amounted to 12.5 billion. "Russia's negative balance in trade with the USA in 2017 was 1.9 billion US dollars," the ministry said.

As noted in the Ministry of Economic Development, in January 2018 metals and mineral products became leading products in the structure of Russian exports to the United States, the main imported goods from the United States to Russia were machines, equipment and vehicles.

On April 13, the State Duma introduced a bill that prohibits or restricts the importation of agricultural products, alcohol, tobacco, technology, equipment and medicines from the United States of America to Russia or other states that support Washington's sanctions against Moscow. In the case of drugs, the ban will not affect the drugs that are not produced in Russia or other countries.
