Norilsk Nickel and Russkaya Platina have signed an agreement on strategic cooperation, which involves the creation of joint venture (JV) for the development of deposits of disseminated ores in the Norilsk industrial region. Shares of companies in the joint venture will be distributed on a parity basis. The company will be established by the end of 2018.
The contribution of Norilsk Nickel to the authorized capital of the joint venture will be a license to develop the Maslovskoye field, while the contribution of Russkaya Platina will be a license to develop the southern part of the Norilsk-1 and Chernogorskoye fields.
The joint venture intends to reach the target production level of 70-100 tons of platinum group metals per year. Norilsk Nickel will assume responsibility for providing the project with access to the energy and transport infrastructure. The final parameters of the project will bebased on the results of the feasibility study, which is scheduled for 2019.
