Official distributors of Microsoft in Russia - Merlion and RRC - introduced new restrictions on the sale of the company's products to 200 Russian companies. The decision was made after the package of Washington sanctions was approved in November 2017 against Moscow, the agency said.
The Merlion notice of November 29 states that orders for Microsoft software products for the financial sector will be fulfilled upon confirmation of full prepayment. For the defense industry, the distributor requires the payment guarantee within 30 days from the date of shipment of the license, and for the power segment - within 60 days.
RRC did not specify which restrictions it introduced. Microsoft said: "Microsoft is firmly committed to compliance with legal requirements and has strict rules of compliance around the world to ensure compliance of the rules with our partners."
