Manufacturers have raised the price for cabbage by 66 percent since the beginning of 2015.
This was reported by “Interfax” citing the data of the Ministry of Agriculture. Thus, cabbage costs 23.36 roubles per kilogram as it is sold to stores (according to Rosstat, its retail price makes up already 40.37 roubles – the note of “Lenta.Ru”). At that, onions became more expensive by 40.5 percent – up to 23.08 roubles (retail price - 37.82 roubles), potatoes - by 36.3 percent up to 22.01 roubles (33.34), carrots - by 31.9 percent up to 20.26 roubles (43.80). The price of apples rose by 34.5 percent – up to 52.26 roubles (91.58).
The prices on beef have grown at the meat market most of all: by 10.2 percent - up to 214.16 roubles per kilogram (in stores it costs 306.33 roubles).
Manufacturers of flour have raised the cost of their products by 7.9 percent – up to 17.24 roubles per kilogram (retail price is 32.55 roubles).
The price of bread has risen by 6.7 percent – up to 39.29 roubles (40.19).
According to the latest data of the Federal Service of State Statistics, inflation in Russia amounts to 16.7 percent in annual terms. It has remained on this level for four weeks in a row. On March 23 the Deputy Minister of Economic Development Aleksei Vedev noted that the peak of prices growth was over. In February FAS reported that the number of registered complaints about the high price of food reached a record level.
The anti-monopoly agency has recorded 1,007 reports of rising prices for goods. Morgan Stanley considers that the inflation in Russia will reach13.7 percent at the year-end 2015. The international rating agency “Fitch”, in its turn, suggests that the growth of prices in the country will reach 8.5 percent. According to the updated forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development, the inflation will be 12 percent this year. The Ministry of Agriculture expects a 15 percent increase of prices.
