”Lukoil” with its annual revenue of 5.47 trillion roubles has become the largest private company in Russia. This conclusion can be made from the annual ranking published by the Forbes magazine. The list includes a total of 200 largest Russian companies, more than 50 percent of their shares belong to private owners. The lines in the ranking were distributed according to the revenue for the year 2017.
The top ten includes the enterprises of the oil and gas sector, retail and metallurgical companies. The second place has been occupied by X5 RetailGroup with a large lag – the company has earned 1.29 trillion roubles. Last year, the company’s revenue grew by 25.3 percent, as compared to 2016. At that, 77.8 percent of the revenues were obtained from the “Pyaterochka” retail chain. At the end of 2017 it included 11,225 stores.
The third place belongs to one of the largest oil and gas companies in Russia, “Surgutneftegaz”, with the revenue of 1.27 trillion roubles.

Magnit with its fourth line has gained the revenues of 1.14 trillion roubles.
“Tatneft” is on the fifth line (681.2 billion roubles), the sixth line belongs to the “Megapolis” group of companies (sales of cigarettes, alcohol and energy drinks, 655.7 billion roubles of revenue).
The seventh, eighth and tenth places lines are occupied by metallurgical holdings: Evraz (631.3 billion roubles), Novolipetsk Steel - NLMK (587.1 billion roubles) and Rusal (581.3 billion roubles).
The ninth place belongs to one of the largest producers of natural gas, NOVATEK (583.2 billion roubles). The total rouble revenues of 200 companies participating in the ranking has increased by 12 percent over the year and amounted to 36 trillion roubles. The fastest growth (an average of 42.8 percent) was observed in coal companies that benefited from the rise in coal prices.
